Sven Ferwerda (2010) is a talented Dutch decathlete with an impressive combination of size, strength, and athletic potential. He has already established himself as one of the strongest all-round athletes of his age group in the Netherlands, earning multiple national and regional podium finishes while continuously improving his performances. Sven is highly driven, eager to learn, and constantly looking for ways to maximize his development. He is looking to join a strong college track & field team in the Fall of 2027.

Standing at 6’5 feet (1.97m) tall, Sven possesses exceptional physical potential for the decathlon. His biggest strengths are his explosiveness, strength, and outstanding work ethic, which he continues to develop through four weekly track sessions, regular strength training in the gym, and a strong focus on recovery through stretching and mobility work. While his current performances are largely driven by his physical abilities, Sven believes his greatest potential still lies ahead. He sees significant room for technical improvement across all ten events and is excited about how much progress he can make under high-level coaching.
Sven’s goal is to become the strongest decathlete of his 2010 age group while continuing to improve both his technical skills and physical strength. His long-term ambitions are equally impressive, which is surpassing 8,000 points in the decathlon
Sven approaches every challenge with a growth mindset. He views setbacks as opportunities to learn, actively seeks feedback, and is motivated by continuous improvement rather than short-term success. His determination to become the best decathlete of his age group reflects the high standards he sets for himself every day.
With ambitious long-term goals both on the track and in the classroom, Sven is eager to make the most of the opportunities the American college system offers. Besides that, Sven is a very positive person and is always looking to help others as well.
Sven is currently enrolled in high school in the Netherlands. He will graduate in the summer of 2027. Sven is looking to major in Business or Entrepreneurship.
